چکیده
The present investigation has been conducted in rice crop during Kharif 2021-22at Students’ Instructional Farm of Acharya Narendra Deva University Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya (U.P.), India. population six major insect pests was recorded viz. Rice Yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulus), Leaf folder (Cnapholocrocis medinalis), ear head bug (Leptocorisa acuta), Brown plant hopper (Nilaparvata lugens), White backed (Sogatella furcifera)and Green leaf (Nephotettix nigropictus) that cause most damage at different growth stages initiated after sowing till harvesting. maximum yellow stemborer observed on 36th SMW (12.20 per cent dead heart). infestation heart non-significant positively correlated with minimum, temperature RH% (0.433, 0.010 & 0.253 respectively) negatively rain fall (0.081) whereas, significant sunshine (0.552*). white 40th (16.80 cent). negative correlation (-0.062, -0.167) positive RH (0.244 0.173) (0.703*).

(eds M.C.S. Wopereis et al.) 229 In the search for sustainable management options to increase food security, an overall challenge is to increase yields and decrease losses during production and harvest without harming the environment and resource base for future generations of farmers and consumers. As such, integrated pest management (IPM) plays a key role in the context of sustainable agricul...
متن کاملGenetic engineering of rice for resistance to homopteran insect pests
The rice brown planthopper (BPH; Nilaparvata lugens) is a serious pest of rice crops throughout Asia, damaging plants both through its feeding behavior and by acting as a virus vector. Like many homopteran pests of crops, it is primarily a phloem feeder, abstracting sap via specially adapted mouthparts. An artificial diet bioassay system for this pest was developed to allow the effects of poten...
متن کاملInsect pests of tea and their management.
Globally, 1031 species of arthropods are associated with the intensively managed tea Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze monoculture. All parts of the plant, leaf, stem, root, flower, and seed, are fed upon by at least one pest species, resulting in an 11%-55% loss in yield if left unchecked. There has been heavy use of organosynthetic pesticides since the 1950s to defend the plant against these p...
